Are 220v inverters suitable for home use?
The solar panels charge the batteries during the day, and the inverter converts the DC power stored in the batteries into 220v AC power that you can use to run your home appliances.
A power inverter, inverter, or invertor is a power electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The resulting AC frequency obtained depends on the particular device employed. Inverters do the opposite of rectifiers which were originally large electromechanical devices converting AC to DC.

Heavy-duty inverter/chargers are also available that use 24V, 36V or 48V batteries for applications requiring higher wattages. Ensure the batteries you choose match the inverter's input voltage. In North America, the electric service coming into your home is 120 volt AC power.
