National 6G roadmap sets direction for
The TUUTTI project will prepare Finland''s communications network policies until 2037. The project will also take into account
This study presents an overview of sustainable and green cellular base stations (BSs), which account for most of the energy consumed in cellular networks. We review the architecture of the BS and the power consumption model, and then summarize the trends in green cellular network research over the past decade.
The roadmap sets milestones for the development and implementation of next-generation mobile communication technologies in the 2030s. Finland's goal in the 2030s is to remain a pioneer in mobile networks and network technologies. The roadmap also sets six other goals: 6G promotes sustainable development and energy efficiency.
Finland is a pioneer of safe, secure, and reliable network technologies and one of the first to publish a 6G roadmap. This roadmap allows Finland to ensure that we stay on top and create conditions for growth, says Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne. There are four priorities in the 6G roadmap to achieve the goals.
Figure 10 reveals that many cellular network operators in the world have still not shifted toward green cellular BS. Most of these operators are located in developing countries with limited electricity supply and unreliable electric grids. The financial issues in these countries must be investigated further. 4.5.
